Development/Construction Process:Since the authorities of Soviet Union never officially acknowledged the fact of the Armenian Genocide, those monuments commemorating the victims of the Genocide built under the Soviet rule were abstracted in one way or the other. Here, the abstraction occurs in the commemoration of a Battle or a resistance movement. This memorial consists of a monumental structure with a rising tower on top of which the icon of an eagle (signature of the architect, Israelian). Construction material is red tufa.
History of Ownership:Owned by the Soviet State before 1991 & the State of Armenia after 1991.
